Stretching
Stretching consists of two types of stretching exercises that can
be performed to increase flexibility, recovery rate, reduce injuries
and enhance athletic performance:
Static stretching consists of holding
stretches for approximately 30 - 60 seconds, without any discomfort.
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitated (PNF) stretching is performed
to increase the range of motion of a particular group of muscles. This
is achieved by alternating contraction and relaxation of agonist and
antagonist muscles.
