Point Therapy is a Sydney based sports acupuncture and physical rehabilitation clinic. The founding principle of Point Therapy is to integrate the best of traditional Eastern techniques and Western sciences.

Practitioner Profiles

Hung Chung

Graduating from the University of Technology Sydney, Hung achieved a degree in Health Science specialising in Acupuncture. Shortly thereafter, encouraged by passion and love for his work, Hung founded Point Therapy in 1998.

As Director and principal therapist of Point Therapy, Hung has secured and worked on many of Australia's most high profile athletes, sporting organisations and corporate clients. Although, Point Therapy has rapidly grown through the referrals of its loyal patient base, it still continues to provide a high level of personalised care and attention to the individual patient.

Hung's many years of experience in the field of sports medicine and pain disorders enables him to accurately diagnose and formulate an optimum treatment and rehabilitation regime. Hung's methodology focuses on fixing the immediate problem before he tackles other causes.

With his wealth of expertise and knowledge behind him, Hung has established himself as one of Sydney's leading acupuncturists in the field of sports medicine.

Emin Liao

Emin is a graduate from the University of Technology, Sydney with a degree in Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture) and a Masters of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Chinese Herbal Medicine).

Emin has intensely studied and practiced acupuncture and herbal medicine for over 10 years. During this period, he devoted his life to studying the art of acupuncture and herbal medicine with a renowned traditional chinese practitioner. As a result, Emin has developed a unique set of skills in treating both external (musculoskeletal) and internal medicine, optimising the usage of acupuncture, herbal medicine with western medical knowlege.

Emin has also garnered over 10 years experience in Chen style Tai Chi as an instructor and has competed successfully at an international level.

Chris Pinder

In 2000 working as a professional dancer and acrobat, Chris became hooked on Pilates, incorporating it and its key principles in his daily exercise routines.

Ten years on, Chris is now an in-demand Pilates Instructor with credits to his name including co-hosting Pilates TV aired on The Lifestyle Channel for Foxtel.

Chris started his career as a professional dancer in highly acclaimed musicals such as Cats, West Side Story and Miss Saigon. He then went on to become a Personal Trainer with Fitness First before becoming a freestyle Group Fitness Instructor.

His classes were considered some of the best and were highly sought after. Chris carries his own style over into his Pilates instruction with highly evolved technical skills that assist his clients and students in getting the most out of their efforts.

Richmond Saliba

Richmond graduated from Randwick TAFE where he acheived a fitness certificate III and IV, simultaneously receiving the course's highest accolade becoming Personal trainer of the year for 2006. After graduating, Richmond developed Core Care over that forthcoming year.

To date Richmond has worked alongside and developed strength and training programs for Sydney University rugby league, MMA athletes and regular individuals. Although mainly working with athletes, Richmond’s passion lies with helping people to develop their core strength to ensure they don’t allow back pain hinder their lifestyles.

To this day, Core Care has continuously developed and evolved to ensure that it can tackle all forms of core conditioning. Richmond has undertaken Corrective exercise courses specialising in lower back, and corrective posture techniques.

Working closely with Hung and his team has made his role more effective in attaining a better understanding of an individual’s injuries and needs, to better service their training regime and incorporating their core conditioning.

Richmond lives and breathes core training which has enabled him to overcome his own back injuries where he sustained a bulged disc in his L5 giving him referred sciatic pain down his legs. Since his recovery, he has been able to continue training and compete in contact sports.
