Meet Our Practitioners
Meet the team behind Point Therapy: registered acupuncturists and a remedial massage therapist with decades of clinical experience.
Our Team

Hung Chung
Registered Acupuncturist and Founder
B.HSc (Acupuncture), University of Technology, Sydney. AHPRA Registration: CMR 1725686
Twenty-eight years in clinical practice have shaped Hung’s approach: classical acupuncture, read through the lens of neuroscience and physiology.
From the football field to the treatment room
Hung founded Point Therapy in 1998, the same year he joined the Balmain Tigers’ medical support team. Over the following decade he supported elite athletes through the Wests Tigers (2000–2002) and the Australian Rugby Union’s Wallabies (2003–2008), including preparation for the 2003 Rugby World Cup. In 2008, he chose to step back from touring and commit fully to his Bondi Junction practice.
Three threads, one approach
Hung’s approach starts at the root: understanding how the body and mind are responding, then treating it with precision.
1. Nervous system first. Hung’s clinical interest lies in how acupuncture works with the nervous, circulatory and endocrine systems, helping shift the body out of a stress response and into recovery mode for both mind and body, the basis of his work with stress, headaches, sleep and pain.
2. Structured rehabilitation. Specialised acupuncture techniques and dry needling, paired with rehabilitation guidance, form part of a broader plan for sports injury and musculoskeletal recovery, never a standalone fix.
3. The stress–sleep–gut connection. The gut and the brain are constantly “talking” to each other, stress can disrupt sleep and digestion, just as poor sleep and digestion can heighten stress, needling, paired with breathing guidance, exercise and general dietary advice, works to help balance this cycle.
