Acupuncture for Fertility and Reproductive support
Fertility is one of the most personal journeys a person can go through. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it’s never treated as a single problem to fix, it’s seen as part of your body’s overall balance, closely tied to the kidneys and liver in TCM theory. Rather than focusing on fertility alone, our approach looks at the whole person (easing tension, calming the nervous system, and helping restore balance), always alongside, never instead of, the care you’re already receiving from your GP, gynaecologist or fertility specialist.
Our Approach
1. General Wellbeing Care
Treatment draws on both traditional and modern frameworks, focused on general wellbeing rather than any specific fertility outcome:
Traditional Acupuncture: Rooted in classical TCM theory, focusing on supporting the kidneys and liver, which traditional principles link to reproductive health. This approach aims to support the body’s natural energy balance and overall wellbeing.
Modern Acupuncture: Based on modern anatomy and evidence-informed practice. This approach targets specific points aimed at helping calm the nervous system, ease stress, support sleep quality, and support overall wellbeing, general health factors that can contribute to overall reproductive and fertility wellness.
Tui Na Fertility Massage: Gentle, specialised Chinese abdominal massage combining rhythmic rubbing with acupressure on key TCM points.
Stress Relief: Helps calm the nervous system during what can be a stressful process.
2. Understanding Your Circumstances
We take time to understand your situation so our approach fits alongside your specialist care:
Current treatment review: Discussing your existing fertility treatment and specialist guidance.
General wellbeing discussion: Understanding sleep, stress and general health factors.
3. Ongoing Complementary Care
Care that fits around your specialist’s timeline:
Ongoing session guidance: A pace of sessions coordinated with your existing fertility care.

Common questions
Can acupuncture improve my chances of conceiving? Many patients find acupuncture a genuinely valuable, calming complement to their fertility journey. While we’re not able to make specific promises about outcomes, we’re glad to work alongside your GP, gynaecologist or fertility specialist to support your overall wellbeing every step of the way.
What does the Tui Na fertility massage actually involve? It’s focused on the lower abdomen (the Lower Dantian area), combining rhythmic rubbing with gentle acupressure on key TCM points such as Guanyuan and Zigong. In TCM theory, this warming process is believed to clear energy blockages and ease “uterine coldness”, a traditional concept, not a proven clinical outcome, offered as part of general wellbeing care.
Do I need to tell you about my current fertility treatment? Yes, please, this helps us understand your circumstances and ensure our approach is appropriate alongside what you’re already doing.
